New Year’s Resolutions starting to get harder to keep? Take a Lenten break from the typical happy hour activity and join us for a yoga happy hour instead. Kathy Richardson will lead us in a 30-minute discussion on de-stress techniques then guide us through a one-hour yoga session. Event is free to TCWLA members and is $12 for nonmembers. Let us know you are coming at: www.tcwla.org.

Kathy is a certified yoga instructor and will be leading a workshop called Yoga for Lawyers in March 2011. This will be the first in a series of such workshops.  March’s event will be held in affiliation with the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association. This is great opportunity to both network and breathe. All levels are welcome since this is a gentle yoga class designed to be relaxing. More details will be posted here and on the TCWLA website closer to the event. Namaste.   www.tcwla.org

Forum in San Antonio in November. We look forward to spending time in San Antonio
meeting with clients before attending the Magna Stella Dinner.

Kathy just came back from the 6th Annual Corporate Counsel Women of Color Career Strategies Conference in NYC where she gave a presentation on the Top 5 Factors in 2010 to Consider When Negotiating Salary. Kathy has spoken at the CCWC before and was delighted to be asked to speak again to this dynamic group of attorneys. It always feels like coming home.

Kathy and Joelle hosted a happy hour for friends of HR Legal Search at Tacos N Tequila in Austin last night. We were so happy to see lawyers take some time to celebrate our partnership and the cooler weather. We plan to host another happy hour in the first quarter of 2011.

Joelle and Kathy travelled to the Four Seasons in Dallas this month to participate in the Texas Minority Counsel Program. It was great to catch up with law firm and in house lawyers from throughout Texas, network, and earn CLE credit.
