Litigation Associate

HR Legal Search has been engaged on a dedicated basis by an AmLaw 100 client to search for a new addition to its litigation team in Austin.  We are seeking an attorney with 4 to 7 years of litigation experience.

Our client is an entrepreneurial and friendly international AmLaw100 law firm. Ideal candidates will have large law firm and commercial litigation experience, an excellent academic background, and strong writing skills. Federal clerkship experience is ideal but not required.  The position offers sophisticated work and top of market compensation. Litigation Paralegal – Insurance Defense

We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal for a well-regarded Texas based litigation law firm in Austin.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum at least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal with experience in first & third party insurance defense litigation, significant trial experience and excellent case management skills.

Qualifications and responsibilities include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point & Excel; typing 55-60 wpm minimum;
  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate required;
  • Order and organize medical and employment records;
  • Prepare documents for production;
  • Prepare for trial, including witness and exhibit lists, schedule and coordinate depositions, initial drafts of discovery;
  • Summarize case specific documents;
  • Paralegals have a soft budget of 125 billable hours per month

Legal Secretary – Insurance Defense

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Secretary for a well-regarded Texas based litigation law firm in Austin.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience working as a legal secretary with a background in insurance defense litigation.

Qualifications and responsibilities include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point & Excel;
  • Transcribe legal documents, correspondence and reports from rough draft or dictation at a level of 70 wpm;
  • Organize and prioritize numerous job-related tasks and complete them under time constraints;
  • Proofreads typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors;
  • Communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with professionalism, courtesy and tact;
  • Answer phone calls and take accurate messages;
  • Read, sort and date incoming mail and ensure that outgoing mail is timely delivered. If necessary, he or she must route mail to specific delivery service and follow up on timely delivery;
  • Establish and maintain calendar and deadline reminder systems
  • Initiate opening of new matters (files) and ensure that a conflict of interest check has been completed;
  • Receive clients and visitors; maintain good public relations with clients; observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship;
  • Make appointments for attorney(s) and remain aware of attorney whereabouts;
  • Ensure that conference rooms are reserved, appropriate equipment (projectors, laptops etc) is available; ensure meeting rooms are appropriately stocked with beverages when her/his supervising attorney hosts clients or other non-Firm personnel. Ensure that conference rooms are restored to a clean and neat appearance after use;
  • Enter attorney and legal assistant time records and ensure that timekeepers’ time is entered into the Firm’s management system according to firm procedure;
