In-House Senior Counsel

This is a rare opportunity to join the legal team of one of the largest luxury retailers in the world.  We have been engaged on an exclusive basis by the company to search for its new Senior Counsel to handle a variety of transactional matters for its retail and online business segments.  With a history of over 100 years in retail and a market reach that is now global, this is a premiere, forward-looking, iconic company.

We are seeking an attorney with ideally 7 to 10 years of transactional experience.  The work that this attorney will be doing includes, but is not limited to: drafting and negotiating contracts involving advertising, promotions/contests, vendors, IP and licensing, and IT matters (i.e., technology and privacy matters including information security, data protection/privacy, and servicing and outsourcing arrangements); reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements; handling social media and e-commerce issues (including data privacy related to customer tracking and analytics); overseeing high profile marketing and public relations initiatives; and providing advice, counsel, and training to the business in all of these legal areas. Familiarity with credit card payment processing is a plus. Prior experience with advertising, promotions, sales, marketing, e-commerce, and entertainment or IP/licensing issues would be ideal and prioritized.  Someone with slightly more or less experience may be considered if on-point practice experience and other criteria are met.  Texas candidates preferred.

The company is headquartered in downtown Dallas where this Senior Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel.  The legal team is small and collegial, with a culture of collaboration and strong relationships.  A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with senior level management, and functioning within an open-door team.
